While I would not normally dedicate a post to highlight my Scrabble skills, I feel obligated to inform you of the demise your esteemed daughter found herself in yestereve. At one point, after I had exulted in my 83-point placement, Ms. Ashlea revealed that she was indeed in dire straits: she lacked a vowel, and had already been playing the caboose in our Scrabble train through several turns.
Ouch.
Fortunately, and in wonderful testament to her upbringing, she handled her eventual defeat with a great deal of poise and grace. So what if I tripled her score? No big deal, right?
