Inquiry

Here's the question that pops into my head while thinking in the shower just now: Why is it that we're told in Ephesians that God's work toward us in Christ is to the praise of the glory of His grace? Why not to the praise of the glory of His wrath? Paul also says "to the praise of His glory," leaving out the grace at the end of it, but still, it's not as though he specifically speaks of another aspect of God's character that we'll praise forevermore.

As I typed this out, a response to my own question needled its way to the forefront of my brain. The implication of this truth is wonderful, one that I easily and often forget. Think about it...if we're going to know God's glory in heaven, and learn more and more about Him for eternity, why specifically praise His grace? The answer is simple and obvious for many of us, particularly those of us with our heads stuck in commentaries for good portions of our days. For that reason and others, it's also easy to become casual toward. Hmmm.
